Welding are widely used in the steel structures of construction structures. Studying on residual stress distribution and the mechanical property after eliminating the stress has significant meaning through test. Most tensile anchor plate are thick steel plate of the Guanyinyan Bridge of Jiangjin, Chongqing. Especially there are some ultra-thick plates. And we have not mature welding technology in domestic today. So it is necessary to do welding test on welding residential stress and mechanical property.In this paper, it introduces the chemical constituents of weld materials in detail, appraisal of welding technology, model on test welding residual stress. Inspect the weld in non-destructive test. By using the quality standard, the defects and limitations of the weld are judged. By using magnetic Principle and Ultrasonic Peening technology, residential stress is eliminated. In the last, the test on the mechanical property of weld is completed.This study adopts mathematical statistics theory to analysize and prove the data agree with law of great numbers and central limit theory. The distribution functions converges to normal distribution. For the data is less, the parent of the data on testing is not the simple parent. Hypothesis of the data nears to the infinity in the analysis and prove. By using mathematical statistics theory and statistics analysis software of SPSS, the results are tested true and acceptable. By using mathematical statistics theory analysis , the mechanical property of weld has feasibility.Through the mathematical statistics hypothesis,prove and test,conclude the data on welding test meet the statistics analysis. And the data are belonged to normal distribution,χ2 distribution and t distribution. The aim of the welding test is to get the mechanical property of welding seam and provide sugestions on structure designs. Mathematical statistics proves and tests ahead provide theories to the parameter estimation. According the parameter estimation, the data of mechanical property on weld are analysized. Calculate the yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and section reduction on the base of confidence 95%@99.5%. At last, get the rusult agree with the practical.The results of the test provides a lot of reliable reference data for weld technology on thick steel plates and eliminating on weld residual stress through the study. Corresponding opinions and suggestions are put forward to. Tt can deepen the understanding of physical and mechanical properties on the welding connections between thick plates and ensure the tensile anchor plate welding connection reliably. The results also guide us to master the changes of welding residual stress and assure the good force performance of the structures.
