The nitrile rubber (NBR)/polypropylene (PP) thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) were prepared by melt blend dynamic vulcanization method, the nano-MMT particles have been used as environmentally friend halogen-free flame retardant in NBR/PP TPE. the influence of untreated Montmorillonite and the treated Montmorillonite on the polyblend structure and properties were discussed.The effects of vulcanization agents and preparation technology on properties of dynamically vulcanized NBR/PP TPE were investigated. The results showed that the TPE using peroxides vulcanizing system have excellent mechanical properties. When ratio of NBR/PP was 70/30, the amount of vulcanizing agent dicumyl peroxide (DCP) was 3.0phr, co-agents TAIC was 1.0phr, the optimal mechanical properties of NBR/PP TPE were obtained by dynamically vulcanized through on step. The tensile strength, elongation at break and Shore A of the NBR/PP TPE were 8.5MPa, 220% and 84, respectively.The results showed that the dispersion effect and reinforcing effect of nano-MMT particles treated by silane coupling agent KH560 was better than that of the untreated nano-MMT particles. The tensile strength, elongation at break reached to maximum 9.0MPa and 270%, respectively, when the content of nano-MMT particles was 5 wt%. Moreover, the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) test results showed that the crystallinity degree of composites decrease slightly with the content of nano-MMT particles increased. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of NBR/PP/nano-MMT composites increased slightly with the increase of nano-MMT particles.The flammability of NBR/PP/nano-MMT composites were studied by Limiting oxygen index (LOI), UL-94 and Thermogrvimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that the flame retardancy of NBR/PP/MMT composites is improved with the increase of the MMT content. The flame retardancy of nano-MMT particles is better than that of micro-MMT. It was found that microencapsulated red phosphorus (MRP) have synergistic flame retardant effects with nano-MMT particles, and the LOI value of composites increases to 28 and can get UL94 V-0 grade when then content of nano-MMT is 5wt%and MRP is 15wt%.and the tensile strength and the break elongation ratio of the NBR/PP/Montmorillonite Nano-meter composite was 7.5MPa and 160%...
