Commercial scanner is a type of high speed, reliable official equipment. The input tray is the important cosmetic component on the scanner. There is high standard requirement on this component's dimension accuracy and mechanical strength. The input tray belongs to the accurate injection part. The object of this article is the part design of commercial scanner's input tray, plastic tooling design, injection process adjustment and optimization, part's simulation and optimization by computer aided engineering software.Firstly the article gives us a general introduction of the commercial scanner and the input tray. Study the working environment of the component and capability requirement. Select the ABS PA765 as the tray's resin by star-figure model. Make a detail description about the scanner's input tray's mechanical design, include wall thickness, draft, rib, round, bolt, dimension tolerance and surface quality design.Secondly, describe the plastic injection tooling structure of the scanner's input tray, explain the detail design of the tooling fill system, core and cavity design and material selection, cooling tunnel layout and the tooling component design.Thirdly study the injection process of the scanner's input tray, introduce the theory of injection process parameter setting such as fill parameter, pressure parameter, and temperature parameter. Set up the initiate injection process parameter through the theory base on the input tray part's resin properties, tooling structure, injection machine parameter. Do the trial run. Analyze tooling trial run result. Make the process parameter optimize design for the input tray's classic defect through the orthogonal experiment. Get the result of process parameter contribute to"sliver mark", make sure the trend of process parameter optimize. After optimize the process parameter, solve this defect and get qualify product.Finally describe the mathematics theory of mold flow analysis in detail. Find the potential part's defects according to the flow analysis, cooling analysis, and warp analysis. Find the direction for the part's design optimization. Improve the part and tooling design base on the analysis report. Re-simulation and get satisfy result.
