An Inconvenient Truth

Today's whole world ecological crisis has been not allowed to be neglected, and the phenomenon of climate warming is going to be the serious threaten to the Earth ecology and the humanity ,to be the matter which is concerned by various governments and people together .According to the research, a series of whole world ecological crisis, including climate warming, occurred because of human activity after Industrial Revolution which is controlled by the industry civilization .That controls the Western industry civilization is the mechanism natural view and the human center principle values, which separates the relations between persons and the nature and emphasizes the control function of human to the nature.This article takes reports on climate warming of three Beijing city newspapers as an object, and researches the ecology consciousness of these papers, then draws the conclusion: the newspaper lacks deeply ecology consciousness. First, in the form aspect, there is few of reports about climate warming on newspaper, and the percentage participating and the depth are very low. Next, the newspaper also lacks deeply ecology consciousness in the content aspect.: Firstly, there are more reports on shallow layers, for example, the fact and influence of climate warming, and there are less in-depth reports such as discussing the reason to the warming and the key to the situation and so on; Secondly, these reports values overseas content and lights domestic content, and it caused the deviation and unbalance when constructing the question of climate warming; Thirdly, newspapers reports the influence and the opportunity which climate warming brings to the economy and even regards the climate warming as a good phenomenon, which is addicted to the benefit with superficial ignorance; Fourthly, when these reports talking about the key to the situation, they stresses on the technical method, not on the reconsideration to humanity's life style from the culture. Thus it can be seen that"the economic center theory"and"the technology multi-purpose theory"appeared in newspaper's reports, which stress on economic growth and technical method and light environmental protection and cultural reconsideration. All these above reflect the leading role of the modern tool rationalism in the industry civilization, which make the mechanism natural view and the human center principle values controlling the Western industry civilization as their ideology foundation.Then the article reviews and reconsiders the mechanism natural view and the human center principle values which regards the relations between the person and the nature as a divided and machinery one, in order to get a critique purposeIn the last chapter,on the base of tracking down the green thought resources in Chinese traditional culture , the article wants to find an effective way for the newspaper from four areas: establishing green agenda, supervising and criticising the non-green behavior and the way of development, advocating green life style and constructing a green public sphere, to spread deeply ecology consciousness, and to play the role of green media.
