Study the spectrophotometry of Isoniazid and trimethoprim determination by Charge Transfer Reaction in this paper. A spectrophotometric method for the determination of trimethoprim has been developed based on the charge transfer reaction between trimethoprim as donor and purpurin as acceptor in water-alcohal solution. The apparent molar absorptivity of complex is 5.71×103 L·mol-1·cm-1 at 528nm, while the composition ratio and stability constant of charge transfer complex are 1:1 and 1.4×105 respectively. Beer,s law is strictly obeyed in the range of 0-50mg·L-1 of trimethoprim. The average recovery is over 98.0% .The average standard deviation of six determinations is 0.86 % when the concentration of trimethoprim is 25 mg·L-1. The spectrophotometry of Isoniazid has been developed based on the charge transfer reaction between Isoniazid as donor and phosphomolybdic acid hydrate as acceptor in water solution. The apparent molar absorptivity of complex is 5.26×103L·mol-1·cm-1 at 700nm. Beer's law is strictly obeyed in the range of 8.00~48.0 mg·L-1 of trimethoprim. The average recovery is over 97.0% .The average standard deviation of six determinations is 0.44 % when the concentration of isoniazid is 0.24 g·L-1. The proposed method is stable, accurate , sensitive and rapid, which can contribute to satisfactory results for determination of trimethoprim and isoniazid in preparation.
