The equipment fault diagnosis is to judge which system is whether or not regular , analyses cause and location that the equipment produces, and forecasts developing trend while appearing abnormally.The equipment fault diagnosis has been one comprehensiveness frontier branches of science, development of 40 has posted , the discipline system has already been formed comparatively. As far as which technology means be concerned, form has been aspected already step by step,such as shaking diagnose,painting appearance analysis,the temperature monitoring and being no mean detecting was main means , and other technology or method is subsidiary. As far as diagnosing method, except the unitary parameter , unitary malfunction technology, at present many parameters , synthetical many malfunctions diagnose have already been on the rise.The equipment fault diagnosis is various , various method should be adopt equipment fault diagnosis. Organization of launder washer is complicated , different organization should adapt different equipment fault diagnosis. Washer sieve plate malfunction diagnose method is the main purpose in the paper. The method that we adopt is judging the condition of the washer sieve through checking the size of coal granule.For the measurement carrying out coal pellet's physics characteristic, people has developed various method of coal grain diameter measurement and data processing. With the image processing technology increasing development, the particle measurement method has got the development according to the image processing technology. The people are trying to use image analysis to acquire the information of the particle directly, and carry on the appearance analysis to the particle.According to the principle of the image processing ,at first, the coal granule image is gained by digital camera, then carrying out the following methed: transform the image , interpolation arithmetics , two value spending arithmetic, strengthen image, wave filtering arithmetic. By the pretreatment, we can get the relatively limpid coal granule image. Because the purpose of the coal granule image processing is mainly to process measurement of coal granule size in the paper, therefore the image division is the main study purpose of the paper.Valve value division , edge detecting, area growth method, , the morphology is the effective means that the image carves up. The experiment carried out on above-mentioned method, which the morphology arithmetic carves up as the image has been choosed.The clear-cut coal granule image has been gotten through image processing. Make use of the Matlab to extract coal granule area , get the coal granule data. Calculate different percentage in covering an area of coal granule in general area , draw coal granule percentage image, judge whether Washer is normal according to the image..The method of above-mentioned image processing adopt Visual BASIC 6.0 and Matlab 7.0 commixture programmings , two kinds softwares , is good for the consumer programming bring into full play.
