Along with the coal mine mechanization level exaltation and mining speed faster than ever, cause to increase the goaf area extending and leave more behind coal, make the hidden trouble of coal spontaneous combustion outstanding in the goaf. In big goaf, the rate of coal natural fire is high and the fire harm is great. To study its reason and the technique of extinguish is helpful to decrease harm in big goaf.The key technique of managing spontaneous combustion in big goaf is the precision certain underground fire source and scope, it provide scientific foundation for establishing project to extinguish fire. Commencing from the theory of coal spontaneous combustion, this text analyses the reasons and characteristics of spontaneous fire in big goaf. To make certain the fire place in big goaf based on isotopic Radon measurement technique, and then choose grouting to extinguish fire. In allusion to the characteristics of spontaneous fire in big goaf, studied in kings of colloid material which common used in extinguishing mineral fire, and discussed to how to choose the material and grouting order and its mode.Grouting is a technique common used in extinguishing mineral fire, and it is the method which is the most effectual. Based on the fire place is certain, adopt to grouting to extinguish the fire, how to choose serum material and compute grouting parameter are all-important to safe, speed, economic and effectual extinguish fire. It uses hydro-mechanics, combining the problem that in engineering, building up bore-model to carry on the theories' study, and to deduce the pressure in bore bottom when grouting, to deduce space between two bores. Combine results in existence, deducing the calculation method of diffuse radial when pump the serum which viscidity is gradual change.For verifying above-mentioned theories, apply Isotopic Radon measurement technique to exactly place the Mahan's Fire Area in Xiangyuan Changzhi city, base on it and at local instance select grouting to extinguish the fire. According to concrete circumstance, chose to use the different kind of serum, and according to serum material and the fire area scope, compute space between two holes, grouting pressure and grouting quantity etc.. Institute scientific project and obtain well effect in extinguishing and economy.So get conclusions: Manage spontaneous fire in big goaf, applying isotopic Radon measurement technique to position the underground fire place, on the foundation of suiting use grouting, choice syrup material and various parameters to carry on extinguishing fire, practices have been proved this method is small risk, take effect quickly, effective, cost low and operate in brief, so it has higher applied value.
