Lost Foam Casting is a new technique of foundry that can be used in combined casting products with little pollution left. EPS (Expandable Polystyrene), one of the pattern materials of the Lost Foam Casting, plays a very important role in the Lost Foam Casting.This thesis studies on both the hot melt adhesive and the room temperature regenerative adhesive using specially for EPS pattern pieces for the Lost Foam Casting. On one hand, through lots of experiments, we analogy several similar adhesives, and then develop a new one for the process, the main components of which are olefin, EVA, colophony and anti-oxidized members. Moreover, the thesis sums up the quality proportion of the main components, and checks performance of the new hot melt adhesive.On the other hand, the room temperature regenerative adhesive (HX) is made from expandable polystyrene wastes, and it is believed that this is an effective way to utilize excess expandable polystyrene foam in Lost Foam Casting factories.Through not only experiment data but also locale operation, craft performance of these two kinds of new adhesives, named EVA hot-melt adhesive and HX adhesive specializing for the Lost Foam Casting, is favorable, which can meet requests of the process. Compared with other adhesives for sale, these two adhesives can reach the same result. Moreover,the cost of new adhesives is much lower.
