After our investigation, over 21 families, 180 species weeds have been found in the imported Australian greasy wool. The wool processing measurement could reduce the germination of some weeds, but some still have relative high germination ability even after the wool scouring process. In turn, germination ability of legume family seeds was increased after the scouring. A typical anti-epidemic method—Wet Compost Fermentation is very effective to inactivate weed seeds. But the inactivation is highly affected by temperatures. Under low temperature circumstance, Wet Compost Fermentation is not as effective as under high temperature circumstances. Further studies are needed to find out an effective measure regardless of temperatures.
