The thesis aims to develop the Giant Magnetostrictive Material Transducer (GMM Transducer), which is expected to fulfill the requirement of vibration welding, including high frequency and large vibrating force. The GMM Transducer which transforms electricity to mechanical force, has the advantages of large load capacity, wide frequency scale, rapid response and high energy density, and the application of the GMM Transducer meets the demands of vibration welding Sponsored by Baogang Co.Ltd, GMM Transducer was designed, optimized and applied in vibration welding in this thesis, and six chapters were included as follows:In the first chapter, the research background and significance of the thesis was introduced. The current and future research of vibration welding was presented, and the research situation of the application of GMM Transducer was pointed out, as well as the related theory. At last the main contents of research are provided.In the second chapter, the basic properties and principle of GMM were discussed. Then, the design theory of GMM Transducer was systemized and the design methods were specifically analyzed in the GMM Transducer.In the third chapter, the GMM Transducer was designed according to output requirement. Firstly, the structure of GMM transducer was figured out. Then, the dimensions of the GMM rod were calculated. The geometric parameter design and optimization of coils and magnetizer in the magnetic circuit assure the intensity and uniformity of magnetic field to lay over the GMM rod. The pre-stress device and mechanical transferring structure were designed at the last part of the chapter.In the fourth chapter, the experiment platform for GMM Transducer was build up. The optimization of the pre-stress and bias magnet was achieved. The resonance and response of the GMM Transducer was analyzed in the software of ANSYS by the method of magnetoelastic-piezoelectric assimilation.In the fifth chapter, after design the application of GMM Transducer in vibration welding was realized, and the dynamical properties of GMM Transducer was tested. The transducer was satisfied and the optimized work mode was pointed out.The conclusions and expectations took up the sixth chapter.
