One-dimensional nanomaterial has been paid much attention because of their unique physical and chemical properties in basic scientific research and potential technology applications. Inorganic nanofibers have become a subject of intensive research due to their unique properties. Electrospinning technique is a new effective method for preparation of one-dimensional nanomaterials. Recently the technology has been improved to prepare various inorganic nanofibers. This method offered a brand-new way for fabrication of inorganic nanofibers.Composite nanofibers were fabricated by sol-gel process and electrospinning technique using PVP and inorganic salts as starting materials. Pure phase ZnFe2O4,NiFe2O4, BaFe12O19 and Y3Fe5O12 nanofibers were obtained by calcinations of relevant composite nanofibers at different temperature. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR), x-ray diffraction(XRD) and thermal analysis(TG-DTA). All the results showed that the favorite nanofibers with smooth surface, and the length was greater than 200um, homogeneous diameter of 90-100nm and uniform morphology were obtained. Some new significant results were acquired, and laid a foundation of the further research of ferrites nanofibers performance.
