Tube Hydroforming technology is making use of tube blank and hydraulic liquid fills the tube and with two side cylinders are pushed in from the side. The material of the tube yields and flows into the die cavity and the part is formed. Because Hydroforming is a viable method for mass production, it has been widely used in automobile industry.In China, although"Tube Hydroforming Technology"is a new technology and currently is enjoyed increasingly widespread in schools and in research departments, but Tube Hydroforming is hardly widely used in automobile industry because the equipment is so expensive, and especially the investigation in china is so late that we are in short of the knowledge of Hydroforming progress and equipment. In the background, this paper investigates the application of Hydroforming.This paper investigates the types of bend, and makes the project of simulation of bend and spring-back, and proves the reliability of the simulation model through comparing the results of testing and simulating. Basing on the model, this paper investigates the effects of some important factors, including with and without mandrel, bend radius, friction, loads on the sides, the length of the mandrel and the clearance between the tube and the mandrel.This paper investigates the characteristics of the tube Hydroforming of the circular tube and rectangular cross-section by uniting calculating and testing and numerical simulation, and bulids the reliability simulation model through comparing the results of testing and simulating. Basing on the model, this paper investigates the important factors of hydroforming, including the material model, the element type, contact interface, friction and liquid force etc.Also this paper designs the technical project of the Hydroforming process of Roewe750 sub-frame by simulating. Taking into account the spec of tube, parameters of bend and Hydroforming, design of die and device characteristics. These are used to depress the costs and decrease the times of the future trial-manufacture in our country.
