With the development of the automobile industry, the request for the auto weight light much higher. The plastic part used on the auto is developing faster than before, just for plastic's low density, anti-corrosion, shock absorbing, easy designed characters. The application about the plastic parts will be one of the research orientations. For volume the plastic part shares 1/3 on the whole car body. But there are some shortages for the plastic parts, eg. anti-UV light, surface defect during moulding. Totally, when we apply the plastic parts, we have to coating it for the decoration and long-term maintenance.The coating application on the plastic is very difficult for the character of plastic and coating themselves. In order to reach the well coating on the plastic, the material character of the plastic and coatings are described, adhesion mechanism between them and the crucial step during the coating application.In the paper, the kind of the plastic and coating for the auto are listed. Then discuss the theory of the adhesion and baking, color matching and controling. The article has analyzed the influence of the -NCO/-OH in the polyurethane coating on the performance, also carried on the infrared spectrum to the modified polyurethane coating (IR) to attribute. According to the result had determined -NCO/-OH =1.05-1.10 is the best allocated proportion. We also discuss the influence of the catalyst for the 2K polyurethane coating and ascertain the catalyst matrix.
