Along with the molding tool becoming increasingly strong, the molding tool type is more and more complicated and the accuracy and smooth of the molding tool surface requests raises continuously,such as the handicraft polishing ,ultrsonic polishing ,chemistry polishing and electricity chemistry polishing etc. Because the high precision equipments such as high speed milling machine can't Widely applicate in china, the polishing process depend on the handwork craftsmanship of workers. So this condition makes the production periods of mould longer, and which is the most important, because the mould surface precision depends on the polishing skill of workers, the precision of mould surface can not be guaranteed. This contravention is more extreme in auto moulds and auto light moulds. How to improve the machining precision and roughness of mould free surface and reduce the craft polishing quantity is an earnest resolved problem in the mould field in china.To address this question,the mgnetic arasive fnishing (MAF)which is a high flexible machining method focused by international take a hope to solve the difficult problem. The mgnetic arasive fnishing (MAF) is researched by internal researchers and external ones, and it has been used in the experimental applications process of the polishing to the free-surface of moulds.However, the MAF has not been widely used in the manufacturing of moulds because of the difficulties of the magnetic abrasive grains, the low life of the magnetic abrasive grains and the control of the finishing with the universal numerical control equipments, besides the thorough research to the theory. But, as a new technology and method,the MAF has its unique traits such as the magnetic abrasive grain's better self sharpness ,which can be easily adapted with machine surface and the magnetic abrasive grain brush's flexibling,so the MAF will be constently developed and rapidly spread in the produce field. The mgnetic arasive fnishing (MAF) with good flexibility, adaptability, self sharpness of the processing advantages, as well as in print and surface finishing especially finishing showed a huge advantage. At present, the magnetic machining application to a large extent still be restricted by a high cost-magnetic abrasive the preparation, and there is an urgent need to resolve the main issues. To solve the difficult problem of Magnetic Abrasive technology, I read lots of documents on the basis of adoption of a large number of theoretical analysis and experimental research on the magnetic grains processing technology, and magnetic properties and magnetic abrasive machining performance in areas such as a lot of useful work .According to the machining principle of magnetic abrasive finishing(MAF) and the theory of precision grinding and tribology,the grinding mechanism have been analyzed. Then,the requirement on the machining performances of magnetic abrasive grains(MAGs) have been put forward. Preparation for mgnetic arasive abrasive, the author carefully studied the powder metallurgy and related knowledge, theoretically reveals the characteristics of raw materials and powder metallurgy powder production process of all aspects of this three methods of magnetic properties of abrasive, Preparation for how to establish a theoretical basis for the programme.So the author seriously studies the related knowledge of powder metallurgy and sintering theories ,and the auther theoretically open out influence of every tache for SPS sintering,hot-press sintering,felt magnetic abrasive grains in powder metallury production. These offer eoretically asis for establishing reparation scheme .The auther makes lots experiment to making sure key technology parameter in the technologic process , and prove good to sinter magnetic abrasive grains by experiment.Using the magnetic abrasive deviee,the experiments of MAF with above mentioned MAGs,which aimed at the different materials work- pieees,have been made.The factors effected on the characteristic of MAGs,such as different mixture ratio of ingredients,abrasive materials,grain size,the optimum finishing time,kinds of addtives and its content,endurance and so on,have been analyzed.Consequently, the related datum and curves have been obtained and the parameters on grinding performances have been determined afterwards.Moreover,economicity and the producing cost of MAGs have been accounted and compared.In the later of the paper,the problems concerned on MAGs to be solved have been raised.It is hope that the results of experiments will lay a foundation for further research of MAGs,rapid developmen tand wide application of the MAGs technology.
