A fouling organism is a general designation of all the living things attaching the surfaces of objects in seawater, whose harms are named biofouling, toubling region of oceanics all the time. There are many ways to deal with biofouling, namely, surface manufacting, water purifying, electrochemical technology and etc. Cathode current technology load current straight to the protected objects, which has not practiced in this field. Cathode current technology was regarded as a whole new antifouling technology with many considerable environmental advantages. In this experiment, a typical fouling organism, Barnacle: Chthamalus challengers was raised to find out the optical way to deal with biolfouling using cathode current in temperate marine space, as well as the mechanism of it.Firstly, the effects of seawater's temperature on barnacles' living statuses were test under Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea climate. After raised in uniform surcumstance, various living statuses, survival, dormancy and activities, can be concluded from 3.0℃to 30.0℃. 6.0℃was found as a top temperature while 21.0℃was found as a bottom temperature suitable for barnacles' living, whose results could be considered as a standard bound in industry to save power in antifouling. It can be also found that barnacles moved the most actively in 21.0℃, which is much meaningful in experimental raising. In mechanism experiment, -0.400V (SCE) was set as a experimental potention that is very common in cathode current protecting. The whole experiment was divided into three parts, they are pH grads, bacteria films and assembling of cation. In the pH experinment, pH were detected by separated sheet of seawater, and pH=8.37 was oncluded as a EC90 to prevent attachment of barnacles. Status of attachments by barnacles was examined by the way of observing the curves of self corrosion potention. The mechanism of polarization to deal with fouling was expatiated how to prevet fouling of barnacles. Assembling of Ca+ and Mg+ was detected in the way of titration, and 1774mg/L was found as an EC50 of Mg+ in controlling barnacle fouling. Additional, the combined effects of Ca2+,Mg2+ and Cu2+ were also studied in this sect of expetiment. By the way of studying combined effects of chemistry, biochemistry and electrochemistry of cathode current on barnacle larvas, the results demonstrated the mechanism of restraining barnacles' attaching in 0.100mm bound off the cathodes' surface. A system of theory, namely pH grads-microbe films-assembling of cations, to describe the whole process was concluded throughout this series of studies.
