In Oilfield, its normal operation is affected by recirculated water scaling and equipment corrosion. At present, many traditional scale inhibitors are limited in service condition and unfavorable for environment. Therefore, it is practically and theoretically necessary to study scale water treatment chemicals that is friendly to environment and more economic and practical. In this paper, several traditional scale inhibitors are analyzed on their performance and their formula is also put forward.First, this paper analyses scale samples by means of SEM, XRD, and elemental analyzer and presents their composition. And then, static scale performance evaluation is systematically conducted on scale inhibitor distributed in North China, sodium polyacrylate inhibitors (with concentration of 30% and 40% respectively) and sodium hexametaphosphate produced by Taihe at a certain temperature, pH and concentration conditions. This paper determines more favorable formula by taking single calcium ion water as experimental water, and sodium polyacrylate, isopropanol, and Benzotriazole as raw materials. And it also presents optimal service conditions and suitable material ratio through static scale performance testing.It is indicated from experimental study that new scale inhibitor is superior to traditional scale inhibitor, because compound formula without phosphorus is better in scale inhibiting performance and more friendly to environment.
