In the thesis, the synthesis and antiscale performance of the scale inhibition of polimer IA-SSS are studied. Changing the feature of IA-SSS and synthesizing IA-SSS-MA, at the same time, comparing the antiscale performance between the two products above.The water soluble polymers are prepared by solution polymerization techniques with water as solvent, ammonium persulfate as initiator. The monomers are itaconic acid (LA), styrene sulfonic sodium (SSS) and maleic anhydride (MA). Then such two inhibitors are obtained as IA-SSS and IA-SSS-MA. The effects of the reaction temperature, monomer ratio, initiator amount and reaction time on the synthesis are investigated. The optimum synthesis conditions are built by the orthogonal method. The macromleculars are characterized by TR spectra and TG.The results of static scale control experiment show that the performance of IA-SSS and IA-SSS-MA are good at inhibiting the deposition CaCO3. When the concentrations of Ca2+ is 6mmol/L, the concentrations of HCO3- is 12mmol/L, the concentration of scale inhibition is 3mg/L, The CaCO3 scale inhibitory rate of the polymer IA-SSS and IS-SSS-MA are respectively 79.1% and 85.3%.By SEM, the change of the shape of CaCO3 dirty happens since the polymers present, and it shows that the polymer scale inhibitors have good performance, it can be used in the water treatment very well.
