Along with environmental quality requirement increasingly, the emission of sulfur dioxide in power plant arouse more and more care, so desulphurization is very important. This paper mainly Study on FGD technique of the limestone- gypsum method in large thermal power units. Firstly it compares domestic and international various desulphurization technology show FGD technique of the limestone- gypsum method suit large thermal power units. Then with the project of 2×300 MW of power plant of flue gas desulphurization as example, have elaborated equipment, process, principle, as well as this desulphurization project system and the characteristic of this desulphurization technology , design major parameter and calculate accomplishment. Finally the environmental benefit and social benefit that produces from this was analyzed. The successful applications of FGD technique of the limestone- gypsum method in power plant prove that this technology has many merits: completely mature, reliable operation and the advantage with high rate.
