Nanostructured nickel hydroxide has great application prospect as the activematerial of the positive electrode, liquid phase deposition method was widely usedfor its preparation, but traditional liquid phase deposition method has its ownshortcomings of poor response flexibility. A novel liquid phase deposition methodwas developed in this paper, nanostructured nickel hydroxide had been firstsuccessfully synthesized with hydrofluoric acid solution as nickel ion ligand to formnickel-fluoro complex, ammonia hydroxide solution as hydroxyl ion supplier andsupplemental nickel ion ligand.Flower-like nickel hydroxide microspheres composed of dozens of nanoflakeswith three-dimensional (3D) nanostructure had been successfully synthesized by thisnovel liquid phase deposition method. The morphologies and the crystallinities of theproducts were characterized by Powder X–ray Diffraction, Scanning ElectronMicroscope, Transmission Electron Microscope, Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy,Specific Surface Area Analysis. The main points of the study were as follows:1) Uniform flower-like nickel hydroxide microspheres could be prepared withinthe pH range from 7.5 to 8.8,with microstructures changing a lot as solution pH.α-nickel hydroxide was obtained within 7.5≤pH≤8.0, andα- andβ-nickel hydroxidemixed crystallinity were obtained within 8.0
