The Research Of Network-DNC System Base On WLAN

The fast development of computer network and information technology brings continual innovation of manufacturing. NC Machining on Network has been one of the most important methods to enhance competition and the comprehensive strength, NC Machining on network management has been the modernizing management model for the manufacturing enterprise. Nowadays ,with the development of wireless local area network , WLAN has been used in several different areas. It is a very strange enhancement and development for network manufacturing by using WLAN in NC Machining.According to the condition of NC machines using in China , we innovated to build the Network-DNC System based on WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) after analyzing the disadvantage of today's DNC(Distributed Numerical Control) system and the demands of the manufacturing enterprise. The hardware of the Network-DNC system based on WLAN is recognized with high-capability computer, Network Interface Card, RS232 converter applications,Wireless NIC as the communication interface. The NC machine with RS232 serial port was the research target, we realized the communication from NC machine to WLAN-DNC server, communication from DNC server to WLAN and communication from DNC server to internet, we put the whole NC machine to internet and manage the NC machine through network.The software of the Network-DNC system based on WLAN is realized through the following components, they are database system, NC file edit system and data transferring system. The development plant we used is Window operation system, the development tool we used is Visual basic6.0, the database we used is Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The Network-DNC system will receive useful information from NC machine and send data to NC machine, meanwhile the DNC system will link to CAD/CAM software. To NC files, the NC file edit model will supply the user an visional portal to edit, alter and load to the database system with database application. Base on the analyzing the difference capability about the different LAN, we realized the data transformation through the different net, they are TCP/IP protocol, WLAN, RS232 protocol; meanwhile Network-DNC system has the capability about management of NC file, NC machine and work planning and so on.The Network-DNC system based on WLAN we realized has the friendly interface, it is an easy using, easy operating system, it can keep on working alone. The Network-DNC system based on WLAN can make the NC machine linking to the internet very easily. it could improve the affectivity and automatic production, cut down the costing. The Network-DNC system based on WLAN will be an important part for manufacturing.
