Compared with the normal wastewater biochemical treatment, wastewater land treatment thinks to be a natural purification technology of low investment, low energy consumption and high efficiency. Aiming at the subjectivity in the wastewater land treatment' s design and operation, it is advised to apply the numerical simulation technology to the wastewater land treatment, to determine the appropriate process parameters in a little time. It will provide scientific basis for improving treatment efficiency and ensuring a long-term operation effect. The practical application of the numerical simulation technology in wastewater land treatment has been discussed. This will offer important reference to the application of numerical simulation technology in wastewater land treatment.Getting to know the dependence of wastewater treat effect on design and operation parameters, it has been firstly studied on the sensitivity analysis on relationship between treatment effect and three important solute transport parameters, such as dispersion coefficient, adsorption coefficient and degradation coefficient. Secondly, by mechanical composition and artificial rapid infiltration soil columns experiment in laboratory, the primary COD transport parameters are confirmed. Then it has been compared between experiment observation and simulation results. So the feasibility is studied of numerical simulation technology' s application in wastewater land treatment. Finally, the numerical simulation technology has been used into the most popular two types of land treatment, such as: artificial rapid infiltration land treatment system and artificial wetland land treatment system. According to the artificial rapid infiltration land treatment system, the relationship between treatment effect and the pool' s area and thickness, hydraulic load, hydraulic loading cycle are researched. On this basis, the appropriate design and operation permanents of the artificial rapid infiltration land treatment system are supplied on the condition of different treatment capacity and treatment demands. According to the artificial wetland land treatment system, the relationship between treatment effect and the wetland area and thickness, plant root length, organic load, hydraulic load are researched. On this basis, the appropriate design and operation parameters of the artificial wetland land treatment system are supplied on the condition of the 750m~3/d treatment capacity, smallest wetland area, highest hydraulic load and different treatment demands. Quantitative inquiry and analysis have been studied on simulating wastewater land treatment system by numerical technology, and then designing system parameters and controlling treatment process.
