Manganese oxide usually contains a great deal of slime. The oxide ore, the surface layer of manganese ore ledge, usually contains rather amount of slime and it makes a great lost of manganese during the process of ore dressing. Accumulations of manganese oxide slime in domestic ore dressing factories have led to serious lost of resources. Recycling and processing this part of resources can not only take advantage of resources efficiently as well as improve the enterprises' economic benefits, but also bring a great of benefits to the environmental and ecology. Thus, this paper does a study on the recycling of manganese oxide slime by the means of hydrometallurgical leaching. This experiment, which uses the manganese oxide slime in Daxin of Guangxi as a study object, chooses pyrite and bagasse as reducing agent. The pyrite and bagasse have the advantages of regional superiority, low price and wide sources. We do the leaching study under the acidic condition which aims at observing and finding out the better way of leaching technology condition of two kinds of recucing agents. The conclution shows that both of the two methods can reach rather better leaching rate if they are controled in a proper condition. Besides, thermodynamic analysis and kinetics study have also been studied. Thermodynamic analysizes the possibilities and the maximum processing extention of reducing and leaching from pyrite to slime as well as the condition of the processing thermodynamic. Kinetics study has set up the control steps of two leaching process ways. At the same time, the ways to improve the leaching rate and leaching speed have been found out according to its consisdent characteristics. Both manfanese subfate and manganese carborate products which are made from the purification of lixivium reach the industrial standard. In addition, the leaching process mechanisms have been discussed. The two reducing agents used in this experiment are cheap and extensive-coming, possessing regional advantages in Guangxi. Furthermore, the leaching process is simple and easy to handle along with the simple facilities and low investmental fee. This paper has certain reference value to industry application.
