As the pipenet plays an important part of connecting the units in the chemical process, the pipenet simulation is a key technology in the research and application of the chemical process simulation system. However, the complication of the topology, the nonlinear relationship between pressure and flow, and the strong pipelines interactions make the pipenet automatic modeling, efficient simulation and general simulation software R&D very difficult.The pipenet steady-state simulation was divided into four steps: analysis, simplification, solution and regression. Adjacency matrix method for analysis and incidence matrix method for simplification and regression were studied. For solution, the steady-state mechanism model was established, and the simultaneous equations method and the sequential modular method were used.Combined with pipenet dynamic mechanism and control, the controllable dynamic mechanism model was established. The dynamic simulation was done with sequential dynamic modular method. And the operator can control the pipenet in the simulation process. The algorithm is applicable for liquid, gas and two-phase pipenet.The developed general software realized automatic modeling and efficient simulation of pipenet. As operator inputs the pipenet adjacency matrix, node incidence matrix and related information, the software establishes steady-state model and simulates fast at first to prepare for dynamic simulation, and then establishes dynamic model and simulates real-time dynamically. The software was used in the dynamic simulation of liquid phase benzene hydrogenation process in Liaoyang petrochemical company, which verified the reliability and practicality of the algorithm.
