Mineral exploitation would inevitably lead to surface subsidence. Subsidence angle is one of the most important parameters on determination of rock movement and subsidence area. Some of Chinese underground metal mines which working with unreasonable subsidence angle lead to the damage to the surface buildings and production facilities in the subsidence area. It brings huge economic losses and tremendous threat to the mine safety. The paper research with the project of "Determination of subsidence area of the surface due to Underground mining of Yongping Open-pit Copper Mine".Applied the mechanical parameters which get from test to determine the subsidence angle and subsidence area.Subsidence angle depends on surrounding rock lithology, mining depth, mining height, mining methods and other factors. The paper summarizes the methods of confirm subsidence angle, analysis the influence of creep to subsidence angle, and uncovers primarily the principal reasons and developing pattern of the surface rock shifting as the mining activities going on in the underground mining area of the Yongping Open-pit Copper Mine.It obtain the rock characteristics and creep damage model depend on relativity analysis the rock movement and creep. It derived the function between time and dynamic surface subsidence values by rheological mechanics, which could effectively forecast the surface subsidence. We could get the accuracy value on amending the equation of subsidence angle.Mining prediction are provided for the 3, 7, 8 exploration lines of the underground mine area due to Yongping Open-pit Copper Mine parameters of rock mass method. It establishes 3D visualization model with the soft of Surpac and amended subsidence area showed in the model.
