It is an important and implicated work to choose the reasonable machining parameters during the design of the machining process. The key issues are to decide these indexes of the machining quality, productivity,cost and the utilization of equipments.The paper propose a way of the optimization of the milling parameters based on the distortion genetic algorithms,meanwhile offers a platform to get the reasonable cutting parameters for the milling operations which is ground on engineering database,it is used to improve production efficiency,reduce produce cost and improve surface quality.Main achievements are as follows:1 establish the management systems of milling parameters. By analyzing the function of the system and processes,the entity model convert to the relation model,the design of engineering database of milling parameters has been completed by using the relation database,Implementation the management of machine, tools and material parameters.2 Based on the theories of the cutting metal,the study has developed the conditional optimization model by the functions of milling parameter's optimization,the functions of the constraint condition of machine tool,cutting tool,material,etc, By contrasting to experience parameter,we find that surface roughness and produce cost play down,production efficiency step up if we adopt optimized parameter.3 Simulate conclusion prove true.Also depend expanding macro definition to the control document that the VERICUT has been already haven,can make the VERICUT control tool and machine to carry on simulation to almost all numbers really,expand the scope of simulation.4 The optimization of the milling parameters of a milling operation has been developed and the alternate interfaces were developed using the programming method of orient object.With the above-mentioned,the system can rapidly and reasonably decide the cutting speed,the feed of a cutting-tool's tooth,the cutting depth by the condition of cutting tool,material of work piece, and the required quality in VC++6.0.The database depends on the SQL Sever2000 database.The algorithms are the VCGA.
