The article do analysis, comparing and combine to the difficult and easy degree of industrialization and practical production on the synthesizing technical course of synthetic heat-resistant modifier N-phenylmaleimide. At last, when activator and polar solvent exists, use two steps method to synthesize N-phenylmaleimide technical course and choose aniline and maleic anhydride as the material. The article summarizes the experimental course of pint-sized and medium-sized experiments, optimizes the industrial experimental technical condition, and considering the effect of many factors which includes the kind and quantity of solvent, the dosage of activator, and polar solvent, reaction time, the material recycle. Finally it confirms the best technical qualification. The yield of product is 93%,the melting point of product is 86.5℃, the purity which is done by liquid chromatography is higher than 98%.The product quality is as good as the product of NCI, Japan. The applied experiment shows, the comparison between N-phenylmaleimide which is produced by industrial experiment and Japanese sample, the former's reaction with SAN is good, reaction speed is natural, yellow exponential is low, so the former is better than the latter. The produced heat–resistant resin's Vicat softening point, tensile strength, static bend intensity, melting exponential approach to Japanese sample. N-phenylmaleimide and styrene-copolymer can improve the heat-capability of polyvinyl chloride greatly. After putting it into polyvinyl chloride, the intenerating point will rise obviously. Put N-phenylmaleimide and styrene to modify the heat-resistant of SAN, ABS and PVC, Vicat softening point of resin will raise obviously, tensile strength will increase. So it can be an ideal heat-resistant modifier during resin process.
