Parallel machine tools based on the Stewart structure is the coalescent result of robotics and machine tools technology. It has been well accepted that the parallel machine tools based on the Stewart structure have many advantages over the conventional NC machine tools with the inherent fault of hardly disposing, such as high accuracy, quick response and the easy way to realize modularization. Therefore, the development of the parallel machine tools has become one of the most prospective tendencies in the modern machine tools technology. This dissertation mainly focuses on exploitation of CNC system software for the 3-HSS. The following creative work has been completed:The analytical representations of the forward and inverse kinematics are formulated, which give a mathematic foundation for the coordinate transposition, servo-motion controlling and status information showing.According to the characteristics of the current open CNC systems, the hardware structure of PC-based +PMAC is proposed. And we labor the realization manners of the PMAC's data transfer. After analyzing the function requirements, detail functional modules are presented.Considering the concept of the open architecture CNC system, the real-time Windows operating system and Visual C++6.0 have been chosen for the development environment. By using of the Document-View structure and the MDI frame theory, some of human-machine interface modules have been finished, such as the initial communication module, the status-showing module, the parameter-setting module, the program-editing module and program-translating module etc. A friendly human-machine interface based on Windows has been presented which have hide the complicacy of parallel machine tools controlling.
