Spin flash dryer, which combines the technologies of both the flash dryer and the fluidized bed, is a drying equipment merged in recent years, and it can be used in drying bulk materials and paste-like materials. The study on its application in drying zeolite is of great practical significance.In the present work, the zeolite was selected as the aim material, and its drying with spin flash dryer was studied. The investigation included not only the drying curve of the zeolite but also the effect of the compositions of zeolite. Using orthogonal experiments, the order of the factors which effect on the final moisture content of zeolite was determined, and the curves of each factor on the final moisture content of zeolite were also obtained. The results showed that there were four factors influencing the final moisture content of zeolite, and the factors were the enter temperature, wind speed, feed speed and rotate speed of the stirrer. Among them, the enter temperature played the most important role, and wind speed and feed speed were in the next place. The effect of rotating speed of the stirrer was least relatively.Through analyzing the results of all the factors in the process of drying zeolite in the spin flash dryer, the best technologic parameters were determined. The equation of connective heat transfer coefficient was obtained by using the least square method and SAS program. An experiential equation for drying zeolite in spin flash dryer was Nu=10.4791-0.000294Re2.784-2.7741Re-1.404B-3.877 Where 11.35≤Re≤21.73 and 0.0038888≤B≤1.011683 The optimal process parameters were determined for spin flash dryer as follows: Entrance temperature:630℃≤T≤690℃Wind speed in axial direction:4.04m/s≤u≤5.72 m/s Feed speed with moisture:0.151kg/s≤Gs≤0.365 kg/s Rotate speed of the stirrer:200r/m≤r≤500 r/mThe present study provides the technique for drying zeolite in industry, which will has great environmental significance and economic benefits.
