Recent years, expandable sand screen used on unconsolidated sand completion has achieved preferable effect, as the base tube of expandable sand screen, expandable slotted tube performance beam effect to the expandable sand screen, so the structural design of the expandable slotted tube, became one of the key themes in the study of expandable sand screen. Expandable slotted tube generates big plastic deformation during it's expansion. The value of the force relates to the geometry of column itself, geometric shape of the slotted seam, taper angle of the expansion awl, conical bottom diameter, the lubrication of joint face between awl body and the column mechanical performance of the material.Firstly the article built the relationship between the axial tension on expandable slotted tube and such parameters as taper angle of the expansion awl, coefficient of friction, wall thickness before and after expansion, the angle of the metal belt on the circle and the relationship between the expansion force on the expansion awl and taper angle of the expansion awl, coefficient of friction, wall thickness before and after expansion, conical bottom diameter, length of the slotted seam, angle of the slotted seam, the angle of the metal belt according to the expansion awl and expandable slotted tube, yielded relevant formulas. Then on the basis of the mechanical analysis results and the finite element principle, conducted finite element analogy to expandable slotted tubes of different structure under ANSYS circumstance, adopted optimum structure of expandable slotted tube by after treatment analysis and structure optimization. After adopt expandable slotted tube's structure, it was verified by experiment. It accumulated experiences and provided analysis thinking for the structure design of big size expandable slotted tube.
