With the economic globalization and the sustained growth of logistics, the port operation is becoming larger, heavier, and faster and more automatic which makes the equipment's composition and the structure becomes more and more complex. On the one hand this has satisfied some objective request. Such as enhancement loading and unloading efficiency and reduce the production cost. But on the other hand, the opportunity of equipment's breakdown is getting more and more, causes the economic loss which the short of production brings is also getting bigger and bigger. Therefore, modern port needs more safe equipments.In order to guarantee equipment's safe operation, enhances its reliability and the security, we must take some corresponding measures to implement the effective monitor and the control to the equipment's running status, for the purpose of discovering the unusual circumstance promptly, taking the measure to avoid the burst characteristics breakdown quickly, guaranteeing that equipment safe reliable, raising the cargo handling efficiency. This will reduce the ship's stagnate time, speed up the harbor cargo circulation, promote foreign trade and the economic development.As a frame of port machinery, metal structure is enduring the weight of transmission mechanism itself and other load, metal structure's working condition relates directly to the whole machine's operation performance, safety and reliability, malfunctions could cause great direct and indirect loss.To gather and analyze the data correlated with metal structure of crane are effectively is the more essential science basis for the device manager who make the maintain decision.Nowadays, examines for metal structure malfunction of port machinery are commonly conducted by experimenters. They regularly bring instrument to the local of port machinery which work in a very complex condition, then process the data. The task is complicated, dangerous and it fails to help reducing the time of examine and enhancing efficiency. Thus it is necessary to find out a reasonable approach for this subject. The paper based on the characteristics of metal structure, combined with the working condition of port machinery, used modern machinery testing and experiment technology as the research method, and employed traditional Strain Gauge Electric Metering technique, API and Dll programming technique. It also brought forward a scheme for online monitor system of port machinery structure stress and introduced hardware component and software structure thoroughly.The researches of this thesis have provided some good references for the on-line monitoring of port machinery.
