In allusion to anxious difficult problem to be solved about high energy consumption in thermal refining way ,we advance a new refining way, in which we first cut wood chip into thin paring, with the thickness range from 40-500μm,then through the PRC-APMP to make pump.In this work , through to two kinds of different raw materials - spruce and populus (from Sihong of Jiangsu), adopt the thin paring (with the average thickness 0.3mm) and the traditional wood chip (with the average thickness 2mm) to make pump using P-RC APMP process , then compare its pulp properties and the energy consumption of pumping, the result of this study is as follows:1.The chip slicing has certain function of cutting off on the fiber2.In the same Canadian Standard Freeness and the charge of NaOH ,the content of 30 mesh component in the spruce paring-stock is 10% less than in the spruce chip-stock,but compare the component of 50 mesh to 100 mesh,100 mesh to 200 mesh ,the former is higher than the latter,while the component lower than 200 mesh is more less the same. the content of 30 mesh,30 mesh to 50 mesh component in the populus paring-stock is lower than which in the populus chip-stock,but to the content of 50 mesh to 100 mesh,100 mesh to 200 mesh and hereinafter,the former is higher than the latter.3.In the same Canadian Standard Freeness and the charge of NaOH ,Comparing to spruce chip-stock using P-RC APMP process,spruce paring-stock has the higher bulk but lower tensile index,burst index and tear index, populus paring-stock and populus chip-stock show the similar disciplinarian.As the decrease of Canadian Standard Freeness,the opacity and scattering coefficient of the stock present a trend of rising and became steady on later stage .With an increase in charge of NaOH,Pulp properties such as tensile index,burst index and tear index show a rising trend,but bulk,opacity and scattering coefficient with a decreasing trend.4.In the same Canadian Standard Freeness and the charge of NaOH ,the energy consumption of refining decrease by 28.73% and 16.36% separately ,comparing spruce and populus paring to traditional chip. On condition that consume the same energy ,stock using paring get higher tensile and burst index,but lower tear index.
