Scenic Water can beautify the environment for people to enjoy. The sensory quality should be considered one of the important factors in the evaluation of scenic water quality. The sensory evaluation is on the basis of subjective feelings. Though the sensory evaluation can indicate some phenomenon, there are several disadvantages. The results are non-intuitive, and the presentation varies from person to person and the records are not normal so that it is difficult to compare different aesthetical sensation of the water. And the existing comprehensive evaluation method of water quality used to evaluation the water quality may not be able to objectively reflect the water sensory character. Therefore, it is necessary to study the sensory evaluation methods on scenic Water, which provides an important basis for the correct assessment of the improvements about the aesthetical sensation, planning and management of scenic Waterand the use of scenic Water. The sensory evaluation method of scenic Water is researched in this dissertation. The main contents are shown as follows.1) The sensory scenic Water qualitative evaluation system is established. The water sensory evaluation should be based on the person's feelings.Three sensory elements of the water which are color, clarity degree or turbidity and smell and five sensory impacts of the water which are plants, animals, depth of water, the shore types and weather are determined. Five levels of evaluation sets which are excellent, good, average, poor, the worst are established, so are the corresponding percentile regions. The evaluation questionnaire is designed to evaluate the water aesthetical sensation. The weighted average method is used to get the sensory evaluation scores. The set reviews of sensory evaluation scores are compared with the corresponding reviews of personal sensory evaluation scores and the average repetition rate is 66%. The results of the evaluation basically tend to the results of the majority of people's evaluation. It is proved that using the sensory evaluation method of scenic Water to evaluate the aesthetical sensation is feasible.2) A sensory evaluation method is studied based on the indicators of the water quality, which makes the evaluation results reflect the water sensory character. In order to solve the problems of the sensory evaluation of scenic Water that are time consuming and costs a lot of labor, fuzzy mathematical method is used. Six water indexes that impact the aesthetical sensation are chosen to put into the evaluation system. There are color and turbidity, transparency, Permanganate Index, dissolved oxygen and ammonia. Then five-level standard of water quality indexes which are A, B, C, D and E are set. Rising/falling semi-trapezoidal membership functions are selected. The weights of single index are determined and a fuzzy matrix is set. Then the evaluation value is treated and the aesthetical sensation evaluation composite index (SEI) is born. SEI should be in good agreement with the sensory evaluation results. This model is calculated by VB tools. Next, the precision and reliability of model are discussed. Absolute error is used to analysis the accuracy of the model. When the final score tolerances for 10, the results are compared with the results of the sensory evaluation, which shows that the repetition rate is 89%. It indicates the model's precision is good. Single parameter of sensitivity evaluation method is used to analyze the model. When the parameters are within±20% of the interval changes, changes in the scope of SEI is in the corresponding interval of the sensory evaluation. The effect on the results of the final evaluation is little. Therefore, it is thought that the model has certain reliability. Finally, this method is used for evaluating the water of Canglang Pavilion of Suzhou.
