High performance carbon fibers not only can be used to promote strength and modulus of cases,but also can light the weight of cases.That is to say it can promote the value of PV/W of cases.However,it is found that these carbon fibers always can not perform well with common brittleness matrix which has low modulus.Therefore,it is high time to exploit toughness matrix with high modulus in wet filament winding for high performance carbon fibers.In this work,modified amine T1,T2 and T3 were made as hardeners for epoxy resin TDE-85.It was found that resins cured with each modified amine possess gliding fracture.TDE-85/T3 system has good mechanical properties as well as a toughness matrix with high modulus.It's bend modulus could reach up to 3600MPa and the special elongation was 4.6%.Modulus of matrix is an important factor which would influence the performance of carbon fiber reinforced composite.Compared with compistes made from low modulus matrix,TED-85/T3/T700 CF composite could achieve a higher tensile strength by 36%and that of TDE-85/T3/TS00 CF composite was 28%.The interfacial properties and thermal mechanical properties of composites were analyzed via dynamic mechanical thermal analysis(DMTA).The results of DMTA were in good agreement with previous mechanical properties analysis that TDE-85/T3 had a good interfacial adhesion with carbon fibers.The curing reaction of TDE-85/T3 has two stages and the apparent activation energy of it is 52.54 KJ·mol-1.With a pot life over 8h,this resin system can fit the filament wet winding very well.Finally,the influence of cross-link to matrix was studied by altering the stoichiometric ratio of amine/epoxy,β.Whenβ=0.65~0.85 orβ=1.15~1.35, matrix could gain the highest modulus and elongation.But the highest Tg of matix was only achieved whenβ=1.Setted value ofβas 1,TDE-85/T3 matrix obtained a bend modulus over 3900MPa and a specific elongation over 6%. The tensile strength of its T800 CF composite NOL ring reach up to 2800MPa, and that of its T700 CF composite NOL ring was over 2500MPa.Atomic force microscopy(AFM)was used to character the interfacial behavior of TDE-85/T3/CF composite and the interfacial interaction was approved.
