In this paper, by using PEG 1540 as template, using aluminum nitrate as precipitator, the organized mesoporous alumina were synthesized under traditional precipitation method in Rotating Packed Bed. N-2 absorption-desorption, XRD, TG, TEM and SEM were carried out to characterize the as-synthesized materials, in order to investigate the factors affecting organization, morphology and pore structure of synthesized material such as high-gravity level, mixing style, temperature, precipitator, pore-expanding agent and so on.In this study, the mesoporous alumina was synthesized with both traditional precipitation method and Rotating Packed Bed technology. We achieved mesoporous alumina with worm-like and reasonable uniform pores, narrow pore sizes distribution and surface area about 240 m2·g-1 .The results showed that micromixing and dispersion were important factors to affect inorganic precursor and then the pore structure changed. Under fine reaction conditions, the mesoporous alumina could be synthesized with narrow pore size distribution, uniform and compact. The effect of temperature, precipitator, pore-expanding agent and other conditions were investigated. The two stages synthesis mechanism of mesoporous alumina was studied and related according to the results and relative information. It introduces the synthesis process of mesoporous alumina in details, and it becomes more favorable to the alumina synthesis.
