Multiple forming processes are usually needed in manufacturing of auto panels. The change of process parameters in each step will affect the ultimate forming quality of the product. So, accurately mastering and reasonably controlling of multiple-step forming parameters means a great deal to the design and production of complicated auto panels.By means of the numerical simulation of left-rear hanger, this paper studies the effect on forming quality by difference in the pattern and value of deformation in each step. In the study, according to the practical adjustment of tools and the aim of the study, we decide to use the way of controlling the surfaces of the first-step drawing tools, which results in the change of the pattern and value of deformation of the blank after the first drawing. After systematically and deeply analyzing the output of the simulation, we sum up the forming characteristic of left-rear hanger and influence on the outcome of forming by each scheme. Also, by contrast to the practical outcome of stamping, the outcome of simulation is proved to be reliable.In the study of rear wheelhouse, we have two main aims as follows: 1) Analyze effect on forming by different process parameters in the first drawing. 2) Analyze effect on flanging quality by various drawing schemes. First this paper analyzes the multiple-step forming processes of rear wheelhouse as well as the content of the processes of drawing and flanging. Next according to the product's CAD model, it sets up the FEA model and many simulation schemes. Finally on the basis of analyzing large quantities of simulation data, it sums up the multiple-step forming characteristics of rear wheelhouse. Again by comparison of the outcome of the practical stamping and simulation, we conclude that the regularity this paper sums up is believable.During study with LS-DYNA, this paper develops some key techniques of numerical simulation, which are very important to enhance the precision of simulation of left-rear hanger and rear wheelhouse.
