Synthesis And Research Of Acrylates Elastic Emulsion

In this paper,the research and technology of acrylate copolymer emulsions,especially the elastic emulsion,were reviewed. The elastic emulsions which could be used as exterior elastic paints were synthesized. The performances of pure acrylates copolymer emulsion and organic siloxane-acrylate copolymer emulsion were all excellcent for the elastic coating of exterior wall;And acrylate elastic emulsion modified by the polyurethane were investigated in brief.The elastic emulsions of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and acrylic acid were synthesized via emulsion copolymerization using potassium persulfate as the initiator, octylphenol ethoxylates and sodium dodecyl benzenesulfate,sodium dodecyl sulfate as the emulsifiers, poly(sodium methacrylate) as the pretect colloid,divinylbenzene as crosslinking agent. Several factors that influence the stability , elasticity , water resistance of the emulsions were studied detailly.The elastic acrylate emulsion is prepared by copolymerization of siloxane and acrylate monomers.firstly,the organic-siloxane oligomer with multi-vinyl is synthesized by ring-opening reaction of octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane and tetravinyl tetramethyl cyclo tetrasiloxane,in the second step,the oligomer is reacted with acrylate monomers . The films were characterized by FTIR measurement.The results showed that there is a excellent copolymerization between organic-siloxane and acrylate monomers,the emulsion can be used as the basic resin of high performance exterior elastic coating for the good performances。In the third experiment we use toluene diisocyanate, polyether diol -1000, hydroxyethyl acrylate to synthesize polyurethane prepolymer and then the copolymer emulsion UA composite of the methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and polyurethane prepolymer were synthesized by emulsion polymerization with the potassium persulfate as the initiator, octylphenol ethoxylates and sodium dodecyl sulfate as emulsifier, poly(sodium methacrylate) as protect colloid and the sodium bicarbonate as the pH modifier.And the problems in the experiment were thought and discussed basically.
