With the improvement in level of human material living and the development of science and technology, there are more and more demands to electric energy. So it becomes increasingly important to avoid fires made by electricity. The use of mineral insulated cables is one of effective and convenient methods of preventing fire. Nowadays, it is not perfect in the longitudinal welding technology used for producing mineral insulated cables, which needs to be improved. In view of this, a measuring and control welding system is designed in the thesis, which gets Two-dimensional location information of a given cable by the two linear CCDs, and adjusts the position of welding torch in order to achieve the high quality welding according to the measurement results. The main contents include:1) A measurement and control system is designed against welding faults based on discussing the development of the cable manufacturing process and analyzing the application of mineral insulated cables in fires currently;2) This system locates the right position of the welding torch depending on the figures of the cable's position which come form a two-dimensional non-contact measurement by two linear CCDs. To achieve the goal, the CCD non-contact measuring systems is designed, which consists of optical system, CCD sensors, signal process circuit (including the amplifier, filter circuits and binary Circuit) and SCM data process circuit;3) Two single-chip microcomputers is used in this system, the one is for proceeding the measuring signal of cable position and calculating the relative offset to the welding torch position, the other is for monitoring the real-time state of motor and driving the two-dimensional table to regulate the position of welding torch simultaneously;4) For fulfilling the regulation of the welding torch position, a two-dimensional test-table is planned, matching motor is selected, motor control circuit and software systems are designed.It is proved to meet the basic requirements of use by the debugging test to relevant parts and relevant calibration.
