The inorganic particles hybrid polyimide films are newly emerging advanced materials with excellent corona-resistant and have been widely used in frequency control motor. In the production of PI hybrid films, the component analysis on hybrid films is very important. The elements and their value of the hybrid films were tested by several methods. By comparison of theoretical values and actual values, the process technology of PI hybrid films is certified. In the article, the series PI hybrid films were tested by different methods, and then a better method was found. The solution of polyamic acid(PAA) by reaction of the Pyromellitic anhydride(PDMA) and bis(4-aminoph-enyl)ether(ODA) in the solvent N,N'-dimethylacetamide(DMAc) was obtained. The inorganic particles are prone to aggregation because of the high surface energy. In order to resolve this problem, the solution of PAA/inorganic particles was prepared through ultrasonic, and the superfine aluminum treated by coupling agent was symmetrical dispersed in the solution PAA. Then PI/Al2O3 hybrid films were made.Qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis on the inorganic content of PI/Al2O3 hybrid films were investigated using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR), X-ray Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP), Gravimetric Method, Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TG/air atmosphere). It was found that FTIR and EDS were good qualitative analysis methods. FTIR was used to inference possible components by analyzing the structure of material. EDS was mainly used to get information of elements contained in the material. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of EDS and TG were too great to perform quantitative analysis, so they only could be used as semi-quantitative analysis methods. On the contrary, ICP and Gravimetric Method were two excellent quantitative analysis methods, their RSDs were all below 1.0%. Moreover Gravimetric Method only could be used to analyze single inorganic constituent complex material. ICP was the most accurate method and it could be used to analyze multi inorganic components in complex material. At last, a method was got to analyze inorganic constituent in complex material. Firstly, components in complex material were defined by using FTIR and EDS as qualitative analysis methods and then using the result of EDS as a reference, exactly quantitative analysis of inorganic constituent in complex material was performed by using Gravimetric method and ICP.
