The modifying technology, polymerization process and engineering equipment development of SSBR has been described in this paper. Furthermore, the domestic production situation and market prospect have been analyzed, as well as the direction of its technological development and the necessity about developing damping SSBR.By the analysis and summarization with the pilot scale experiment of SSBR, it shows that the key index which controls the performance of this special damping SSBR is its zero centigrade tanδvalue, which is preferable between 0.19-0.22(DMA). The experimental results indicate that concentration of random agent is helpful in controlling zero centigrade tanδvalue between 0.19-0.22 as long as keeping the content of vinyl in a range of 35%-38%(NMR) through controlling the initial temperature.Upon the industrial trial of damping SSBR, it indicates that: the control of the glue's ML value is steady and it has a tendency to ascend. The finishing line process and involved equipments in butadiene rubber unit can response to the request in the consequential progressing of SSBR, such as coacervation, strip and drying. In the situation that the mass fraction and order distribution of styrene keep stable, SnCl4 is adopted as coupling agent, the coupling efficiency could be controlled between 50%-55% , and succeed in producing this special damping rubber by regulating the micro structure of butadiene segment through changing initial temperature and THF content.
