With the progress of science and technology, the excellent function of the new-type ceramic material is paid attention to by people day by day, but its difficult processability has hindered their popularization and application to a great extent. The technology of ELID has peculiar advantages in machining the hard fragile material, not only has reduced the process cost of the ceramic material but also improved its processing quality. This dissertation is focusing on the research of special-purpose grinding liquid for ELID, put forward more systematic research approach and appraisal method, established the foundation for the further research of the ELID grinding liquid.The author carried on the research by three stages: static electrochemistry test, experimental bench simulated test and the grinding machine test. In the ELID grinding liquid appraisal method, the dissertation synthesizing five respects, including the passivating films insulation, the passivating films thickness, positive pole consume, the time of current to steady and the passivating films adhesive force, to appraisal the grinding liquid for the first time. During the simulation test, a special mechanism for taking a sample from the wheel have been designed, which facilitate the observation of the passivating films, though the analysed of the Model XL30ESEM electron microscope have received a clearer knowledge of the surface shape looks and chemical composition of the passivating films.A good result had been received in the processing stage with the grinding fluid confected by self. The dressing time is shorter and the balance of electric current is lower than the experiment with the original grinding fluid, and Si2N3 material ELID grinding experiments on the MM7120A grinding tool the surface accuracy reached 7nm. Proposed current-quality control theory in the grinding stage, and has carried on preliminary verification through experiment, all of this offered good foundation for realizing automation to control in future.
