For several years the applied range and kinds of screw is increased speedy. And the quality of screw is also improved quickly. So the reguirement of screw processing technical becames higher and higher. Milling with non-instantaneous-pole envelope principle with disc milling cutter is a materially breakthrough in manufacturing domain of spiral curved face. Non-instantaneous-pole envelope milling used of disc milling cutter with standard carbide chip is a special instance which application non-instantaneous-pole envelope principle into special shape of workpiece with special cutter. The cutter studied on in this paper is the special disc milling cutter is aimed at this principle which is applide in NC machine milling screw. For further improving the working accuracy and decreasing processing cycle and controling processing cost present optimum design of structure and parameter of disc milling cutter.This paper profound study non-instantaneous-pole envelope principle and analyze the problem existed in envelope milling technology at home and abroad and error principle. With simulation techmology, simulated tools word uder the availabe locus design by numeriacal control program. By creation mathematical model analyzing the change regularity of each parameter and the infulence of milling in the process of milling screw. Expressly present using dynamic parameter to find out the regularity of each parameter in order to optimum the parameter of the cutter. And improve the structure of disc milling cutter to overcome the difficulty of adjust easy to regulate and manufacture. The disc milling cutter optimumed is manufactured by NC machine. After trial cutting measure the working accuracy and surface quality by three-coordinates measuring machine. Comparison the data with original screw and analyse the result.By theory analysing and trial cutting the result indicate the disc milling cutter optimumed have many merits such as simple structure, easy adjustment, high working efficiency, high milling accuracy and long operating lifespan etc. The experiments of trial milling futher verify the practicability of optimization. At the same time, it can be used for developing new exclusive use cutter and applied to other special mechancial trade. It has signifaicant theory value and comprehensive foreground.
