There are rich resources in our country. A large amount of high viscosity heavy oil has been discovored in many big oil regions. Heavy oil cannot flow under the common oil layer condition because of its high viscosity and poor fluidity so it is difficult for us to take effective development in conventional method and that's why the large-scale production has not run after quite a long time. Along with all the trades' and℃cupations' increasing demand of the energy and the enhancement of the oil-field development technology , development of the thick oil resources has been becoming the important constituent of the entire oil industry . Therefore, researches in view of the development technology of the heavy crude reservoir have been conducted in this paper, mainly including the following several aspects:(1) Systematic elaboration of how the heavy crude reservoir℃cur has been given as well as the reservoir type, the drive type and the classification of it.(2) Several commonly used methods of heavy crude reservoir exploitation including the cyclic steam injection, the steam drive, the steam assistance gravity to drive, the horizontal well assistance steam drive, the steam added the chemical additive drive and the hot water injection drive had been introduced as well as the screening standard and the principle of each method.(3) The heavy crude reservoir's non-hot method of exploitation mainly includes the water injection and the water injection in turn, the carbon dioxide drive, the alkali drive and the polymer drive and so on. In the paper, the basic principle of each method is introduced, the the comparative analysis in terms of each method is carried on and their adventages along with their disadvantages are given.it has provided the theory basis for the highly effective development of the heavy crude reservoir.
