ABSTRACT The fluid moving rule in a new structure liquid-liquid hydrocyclone was researched by numerical simulation. It may further grasp its separation mechanism and enhance understanding to the liquid-liquid hydrocyclone, lain the foundation for the optimization and the selecting of hydrocyclone structure, which can provide good references for designing hydrocyclones to treating the sewage water that contain polymer.The Fluent software was applied in this thesis. The hydrocyclone velocity and pressure field distribution characteristics and the influence factors were analyzed; and also the separation efficiency change by altering big cone angle and small cone angle, which provided theoretical references for the optimization design of hydrocyclone. Grasping the distribution rules of pressure field was helpful to analysis and assignment of the reliability for entire hydrocyclonic separation system. Moreover, the specification of booster pump was choosed according to the pressure drop, which was bigger, the higher to the reliable request of booster pump.By numerical simulation, a new liquid-liquid hydrocyclone was designed. Its internal flow field and the separation performance were simulated. The final result indicated the new structure hydrocyclone might enhance treating effect to the sewage that contain polymer. At the same time, the erosion of the particle phase to hydrocyclone was researched, and the serious erosion spot in hydrocyclone was identified. The hydrycyclone was one of main equipment in hydrocyclonic separation system, which reliability was direct influenced by the reliability of hydrycyclone.The new prototype has some effect for treating the sewage that contain polymer, which was proved by experimental research. The feasibility of optimization design of hydrocyclone by simulation was also found. Effects of flowrate, split ratio, and overflow diameter on separation efficiency were researched. And the question which existed in the experiment has carried on the analysis to the new prototype, has made the improvement in this foundation.The analysis model of system reliability was built aim at the process system of hydrocyclonic separation; the system of hydrocyclonic separation was simplified to a system in series, and its reliability was analyzed. The measures for keeping system reliability were discussed as well. Through the reliability analysis to hydrocyclonic separation system reliable analysis, the reliability of various equipments and overall system was further grasp; it has vital significance to selection and normal operation of various equipments, as well as enhanced the reliability of system.This work will provide theoretical basis and references for further research of the separation mechanism, separation characteristic and structural optimization design of the liquid-liquid hydrocyclones.
