Application Of Emulsifier-free Bigel System Emulsion In Cosmetic

In order to prevent irritation and dehydration of sensitive skin types often caused by the surfactants and detergents used in the emulsion AND provide the skin with the right combination of moisturizing and lipophilic elements,the raw materials suppliers are working on developing new types and milder surfactants and detergents.TODAY,GattefosséSAS provide a solution to this insoluble problem:use an unique emulsifier-free stable gel mixture system,which is mix the oleogel and the aqueous gel without any emulsifier.We call it Bigel.This study,according to test the basic formulation and its process,AND the stability of the system,we discuss the application of Bigel system in cosmetic industrial initially.From this study, we found prepare a Bigel system is easy,No special equipment is required.All manufacturing steps can be achieved not only at room temperature,but also at elevated temperature if the formula contains waxy ingredients.Formulate with different Carbopol^? references,ideally associated to xanthan gum,a formulation with brighter appearance and more attractive sensory profile could be obtained.Meanwhile,we study the change of this Bigel system when in cooperate with different polarity oils,different active ingredients,different organic sunscreen filter and different pH value condition. We found,Firstly,Bigel system shows an excellent compatibility with non polarity,medium polarity,high polarity oil and silicone,the oil usage could up to 15%.Secondary,active ingredients contain electrolyte could use up to 30%in the Bigel system.Thirdly,Bigel system allow organic sunscreen filters use the maximum percentage that meet the requirement of Hygenic Standard for Cosmetic.Finally,with water phase gelling agents are Carbopol^? Ultrez 21 Polymer+Xanthan Gum,Bigel system could stable in the condition of pH 6-10.As conclusion,the study shows Bigel system not only in manufacture process,but also in cooperate with the ingredients that often caused problem in formulation stability,meet the needs of cosmetic product manufacturer.It is the reference for making new types of emulsion.
