The marking of hot steel slabs is a problem during manufacture. The thesis explores the arc spray marking system to solve the problem. The marking system does well in quick marking speed, high marking efficiency, well stability, etc. The characters that the system marked are handsome, equable. It could accomplish marking task, will be in used in steel slabs marking for a long time. The thesis has the following six chapters.In chapter 1, A brief introduction of the steel slabs marking was given. Both domestic and foreign products were compared. The research status and development trend of the arc spray marking system were introduced. Finally, it pointed out the main contents and the significance of this paper.In chapter 2, The structure design of the system were introduced, especially the spray gun and the wire feeder system. The electrical design and the role of the electrical equipment were emphasized. In the end, it discussed how to quick start and stop the marking car, also exactly control of position. The hot spray marking system was built.In chapter 3, the dot-matrix font and vector font were introduced. It concluded that dot-matrix font was suitable for marking system, also expounded the definition of the dot-matrix font and coordinate transformation, including transnational transformation, enlarge transformation, symmetric transformation and rotate transformation. It increased the marking system to solve the special application.In chapter 4, The modules of the software were discussed, including login, initialization, main control process, monitoring process and data access. The PLC programming was explained, including process control and the communication between PLC and the industrial computer.In chapter 5, it dealt with the relationship among spray voltage, electric current and wire feed speed, also it analyzed the compressed air module in the pipe and the strength on the melting grain. Though ANSYS simulation, the compressed air was well-known to us. At the end, it confirmed the spray parameters though experiment.In chapter 6, it summed up the main results and the system further improvements.
