Ecological Analysis Of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations' Structure And Functions

The growing of urban agglomerations, which usually have a big city, especially the one whose population is over 10 millions as its center, is a main trend of the areal economic competition and development all over the world today. The advancement of China's urban agglomeration has its special formation mechanism and the relation form. The Wuhan urban agglomeration, as a model in the advancing process of China's urban agglomeration, has its own structure and functions which are different from the other urban agglomerations in some aspects, for the diversity of region, scale, development phase.This article selects Wuhan urban agglomeration as its researching object, gets known of the evolutive actuality of Wuhan urban agglomeration, aims to analyzes and seek for a method that improves the relationship between human and the environment through ecology visualization; and also analyzes the structure and functions through biogeocenose visualization to achieve Wuhan urban agglomeration's sustainable development by using ecosystem equilibrium theory for reference.It's an innovative exploring to study the mutual relationship and actions of Wuhan urban agglomeration by treating it as a city community. Through ecology visualization it presents some feasible proposals for perfecting Wuhan urban agglomeration, such as following: removing structural obstacles of Wuhan urban agglomeration from the administrative system and establishing coordinating machinery between governments for different cities, urban and rural interests; promoting Wuhan urban agglomeration to complete the "food chain" and the "food net" and reducing the impact on energy and information transmission caused by administrative divisions and levels of Wuhan urban agglomeration; using diversity principle for adjustments on industrial structure, product structure and economic structure and for the integration on resources and information as well; arising scientific understanding of city managers on Wuhan urban agglomeration's structure and functions to benefit the local economy and the overall agglomeration's economic development coordination and avoid duplicative constructure at the same time. This exploring is for the purpose of finding out the way to realize the coordinate and sustainable development of Wuhan urban agglomeration as a whole as well as that of each single city and assisting policy makers in addressing the issue of urban agglomeration plan.
