With the increased demand for the gears with the medium module and less than 400 mm in diameter used in heavy truck, engineering machinery, lift and military industries, the requirements of machining accuracy and efficiency of gear are also improved. During the processing of such gear, the existing domestic machine tools have several problems that have influence on machining accuracy in different degrees and seriously constrained the improvement of the quality and production of the products, such as poor rigidity, poor reliability, large thermal deformation, poor machining accuracy in high efficient processing, poor adaptability, etc. Heavy-duty 6-axis CNC gear hobbing machine with high rigidity is urgently required in the market to improve the quality of the products and meet the current increased machining demand. In view of this, Chongqing Machine Tool Group organized R & D force, focused on the development of such machines and successfully developed YS3140CNC6 CNC gear hobbing machine, which can meet the machining requirements of gears with small module in high speed and efficiency, and also can meet the heavy trucks, engineering machinery, lifts and the military industries in the field of high efficient machining of the gears with medium module.First, combined with the developmental status and trends of CNC gear hobbing machine at home and abroad, the developmental background and significance for this CNC gear hobbing machine are analyzed. At present, gear hobbing machine is being developed towards high-performance, full-NC, high-speed, high-rigidity, high-precision, flexible intelligent, compound functions, green manufacturing and network. Currently light and standard general-purpose CNC gear hobbing machine accounted for the large majority in the domestic gear manufacturing industry. High precision 6-axis CNC gear hobbing machine is still blank that has real numerical control (fully achieve National Standard Accuracy grade 7 in stably cutting), high efficiency, high rigidity, and can cut one gear of the medium module with one pass.Secondly, various advanced design concept & means are closely integrated with the conventional methods. Gear hobbing machine is designed not only in accordance with general principles, but also with the detailed and scientific analysis of the whole machine performance parameters and constructional features. What is more important is the application of advanced design means such as three-dimensional modeling, stress analysis, the modular design of the machine carried out a detailed optimization. This machine can meet the actual demand and get the optimal design and manufacturing.Successful development of this series of machine tools, will undoubtedly speed up the serialization, standardization, the further development of modular design for CNC gear hobbing machine, bring technology upgrading for cutting gear in high efficiency, and promote the product's quality class, thus promote the NC machine to make the industrialization development of the machine in the gear manufacturing industries. It also shows that the new design methods and means have been successfully applied in the gear hobbing machine's design.
