With the development and application of the composites, more and more people pay attention to the filling which is a part of the composites gradually. Filling modification is an important means to modifying the materials, which not only can reduce the cost of the materials, but also can obviously improve many properties of the materials, endow new properties with the materials, extend their application. Many fillings by filling modification are the inorganic nonmetal minerals. The rapid development of the filling modification technology consumedly promotes the inorganic nonmetal minerals industry.UP is one of resins whose dosage is the most in the composites. UP, compared with other thermosetting resins, has many merits such as low viscosity, affordability, easy processing, often at a lower pressure and temperature molding. However, UP has some shortcomings such as lower toughness, flammability, stronger contraction and so on. In this paper, the serpentine and the brucite are used in modifying UP.The serpentine in the experiment is homemade. The serpentine becomes the ultra-fine powder by crushing, grinding, magnetic separation and so on, its size and surface area are tested by the laser particle size analyzer. Then using the silane coupling agent and the stearic acid modify the ultra-fine power of the serpentine and the modification effect is tested and compared by the activation exponent. The results show that every exponent of the serpentine accords with the targets of ultra-fine powder-lever and the modification effects of the stearic acid is better than the silane's. So the author chooses the stearic acid to modify the properties of the serpentine powder and by SEM testing the powder scattered conditions. The results show that most of the powder isn't reunited and the hydrophile of the serpentine surface property turns into the hydrophobe.In this paper, the brucite fibers are dispersed by chemical means, which effect is tested by SEM. They are modified by the stearic acid, which effect is taken the activation exponent. The result indicates that most of the brucite fibers is dispersed, the fibers diameters arrive at the nonometer-lever. The hydrophile of the brucite fiber surface property turns into the hydrophobe.Finally, the modified serpentine powder and brucite fiber are filled into UP, which is made the composite, testing the composite's mechanical and calorifics properties. The test shows that the composite's mechanical and calorifics properties are better the UP's properties.
