In the development of halogen-free flame retardants, brucite has drawn widespread attention because of its abundant reserves, environmental protection, low toxicity, especially in the smoke suppression of the outstanding characteristics. But filling in polymer materials alone led to a sharp deterioration in mechanical properties, limiting its application in the production and life. Brucite/ammonium polyphosphate composite particles synthetized by the test group could improved the flame retardancy of brucite, but the stretching properties need to be improved. In order to prepare the composites with high mechanical properties and high flame retardant properties, the micro/nano reinforced materials containing silicon were added to the composite. The main point of the dissertation are as follows:(1) The mica powder was stripped by sonication method.the peeling conditon of mica was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction. The mica powder is proved to be a single layer structure. Modified Mica/flame retardant/mixed plastic composites were prepared by filling the mica to composite. The flame retardant properties of the materials were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis,oxygen index test, vertical combustion test and oxygen bomb calorimeter. The results showed that the flame retardant properties of the composites were promoted. Mechanical property tests showed that the tensile strength of the material was improved.(2) The glass fiber/flame retardant/mixed plastic composites were prepared by silane coupling agent modified glass fiber filled to the matrix. The effect of glass fiber on the mechanical properties and flame retardant properties of the composites was investigated. The results showed that the mechanical properties of the material was significantly improved. However, the thermal stability of the composites and oxygen index decreased, glass fiber is not conducive to enhancing the flame retardant properties of the material.(3) The wollastonite/flame retardant/mixed plastic composites were were prepared by wollastonite with needle sructure was filled into the matrix. The effect of wollastonite on the mechanical properties and flame retardant properties of the composites was investigated. The results showed that wollastonite could improve the mechanical properties of materials while improving the flame retardant properties of the materials. When the amount is 2%, the comprehensive performance of the composite is the best.
