| Horizontal radial drilling is a new and effective completion method. It drills through the nearwellbore without secondary compaction. So this technology can increase oil production. In addition, The technology of horizontal radial drilling plays an important role in the old well reconstruction and low-permeability oil reservoirs development. Now the horizontal radial drilling machine is mainly to the water-jet perforation technique which has a high cost and long construction period. This paper presents an electric control system of an underground horizontal drilling machine to realize the horizontal radial drilling. In order to ensure the accuracy and controllability, this paper designs a two-level measure and control system, which includes an overground PC and an underground embedded measure and control device. The underground part of the machine can be put in the well case by the cable. It controls the aiguille infixing and circumrotating based on measured drilling force and torque in real-time. The overground part monitors the working conditions of the underground part and adjusts the control strategy to adjust the drilling process. At present, the experiments show that the monitoring system can meet the basic demands of the machine. The main work is as follows.1. The overall design of the measure and control system of the underground horizontal drilling machine has been completed.2. The hardware design and realization of the two-level measure and control system based on MSP430MCU has been completed.3. The soft ware design and realization of the two-level measure and control system based on MSP430MCU has been completed. The system includes the module of data acquisition, the module of motor controlling, the module of power line carrier communication, the module of power down protection.4. The design of the interface of the host computer has been completed.5. Two sampling machine have been made and the experiment has been completed successfully.
